Hand-crafted from vegetable tanned leather, with authentic, hand-forged iron hobnails on the sole.

The caligae is the roman soldier shoe, used until the second cent, where it was replaced by calcei, except in hot countries.

Made after a founding in Mainz.

Made of one piece of leather, cut to form the typical straps, and sewed on a thick sole, it comes with its hobnails. Made of vegetal tanned leather

These shoes are very well from vegetable-tanned leather

The soles have 7 mm long hobnails from steel.

All veg-tanned leather shoes should be oiled or waxed

before use and on occasion from outside to keep them flexible and supple.
